Yves DeRome was inducted into the AIC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024 following a tremendous career leading the ice hockey team.

Few have ever dominated the middle of the ice like DeRome, who played three varsity seasons for AIC - in his era, freshmen were not permitted to compete at the varsity level. Nevertheless, his 86 assists is still the program's record, and he notched 124 points in just 58 games, better than two points per contest.

Beyond his skill, DeRome was an unshakeable leader. He served as a two-year captain, and in 1968-69 led the Yellow Jackets to a historic conference title, the first in program history. That team was also inducted into the AIC Athletics Hall of Fame, giving DeRome the distinction of being the first Yellow Jacket to be inducted individually and as part of a team in the same induction class.

DeRome was named the 1969 William Coniff Award winner for his efforts on the ice.
