Kervelle Redhead ‘11/‘13, former setter for the American International College volleyball team, will be inducted into the AIC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019.
Redhead, from Trinidad and Tobago, was a member of the volleyball team from 2008 to 2012 and holds numerous individual records, awards, and accomplishments. She ranks first all-time in assists with 4,325, ending her career fourth all-time in service aces with 183, and finishing her career seventh all-time in career digs with 1,028.
She helped build the AIC volleyball team into a perennial threat and consistent Northeast-10 Tournament staple, leading the Yellow Jackets to their first-ever NCAA Championship Tournament appearance in 2010.
Her individual awards are many. In 2010, she received the Alumnae Achievement award. In 2013, she was the inaugural Robert E. Burke Award winner for outstanding individual performance or competitive improvement over an athletic career. That same year, she was the recipient of the Peter S. Meltzer Award, recognizing the women’s varsity volleyball player of the year.
She is a two-time NE10 All-Conference selection, two-time NE10 Academic All-Conference selection, and a member of the 3.0 Club from 2008 to 2012. She also ranked top three in the NE10 in both assists and assists per set as a sophomore, junior, and senior. As a junior, she led the NE10 in assists. She was team captain her senior year and started 120 of 122 games in her career.
Redhead graduated AIC with a BS in International business and a minor in marketing in 2011. She earned her M.B.A from AIC in 2013.
