The second American International College Athletics Hall of Fame inductee is Bidemi Balogun. Balogun brought instant recognition to the American International College track and field program when she first arrived at AIC in the fall of 2008.
She became the first ever track and field All-American — on either the men’s or women’s side — at AIC after placing seventh in the weight throw at the 2008 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships during the program’s third year of existence.

Balogun was a seven-time national qualifier and earned three All-American first team nods throughout her career, winning twice for the hammer throw during outdoor season. The 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Year won the indoor conference title in weight throw in each of her four years in the program, and earned three straight outdoor conference titles in the hammer throw.

The psychology major holds both the AIC and Northeast-10 Championship records in the weight throw, including three of the top five all-time marks in the event.

In addition to her achievements at the College, Balogun competed as a member of the Nigerian National Team at the 2011 All-Africa Games.
