John Voight was a four-year starter in goal as a member of the AIC men’s soccer team, and finished his collegiate career with a school and NCAA-record 998 saves. He was the 1989 recipient of the F.J. Maloney Award as the College’s most outstanding four-year athlete, and was the 1988 recipient of the Ralph Earle Hines Award – presented to the player who best displays outstanding soccer and leadership ability.

Voight went on to play professionally with the Connecticut Wolves (1994-96) and Western Mass. Pioneers (1998-99). He was named a first-team all-league selection with the Wolves, and later won the 1999 USL National Championship with the Pioneers. He was named the National Championship MVP In the latter campaign, and later coached the Pioneers from 2001-03.
