Gary Grodzicki, class of 1974, was a standout multisport athlete for the Yellow Jackets. The Meriden, Connecticut native was a three year starter on the basketball court and the baseball field.

As a three year basketball starter, he scored over 600 points in 70 games for an average of 8.7 points per game. In his senior season he averaged 10.6 points per game for the team that went 15-9. He was named the Christopher Ellis winner for outstanding hustle in both the 1972-73 season and then the 1973-74 season.

In baseball, Grodzicki was a standout pitcher. He currently ranks tied for third in wins in a single season (seven) and tied for fourth in program history in career wins with 16. Grodzicki is also top 15 in program history in career ERA, complete games, and winning percentage. In 1974 he was named co-captain on the baseball team and was also awarded the F.J. Maloney Award as the most outstanding athlete for four years.

After graduation from AIC, Grodzicki worked his way up to become the Vice President of Freedom Credit Union.

He has also served as President and Chief Executive Office of the Connecticut State Police Credit Union and the Enfield Community Federal Credit Union. He most recently retired as the Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of Freedom Credit Union in Springfield.

In addition to his professional work, Grodzicki served as the Meriden, Connecticut Post 45 Legion Baseball Coach and was inducted into the Meriden Maloney High School Hall of Fame in 2006.
