Kavin Gailliard rewrote the AIC and NCAA football record books in his four years with the Yellow Jackets. He led the football team to a record of 31-13 from 1996-99, which included a 23-3 conference record, three division titles, the 1999 conference title and AIC’s only 10-win season (1999). He was a contender for the Harlon Hill Trophy, awarded annually to the top Division II football player in the nation, in 1998 and 1999 – when he finished as the award’s runner-up.

Gailliard was a two-time AP and Daktronics All-America (first-team 1999, second-team 1998) selection, was named an All-American by USAFootball.com in 1999 and was named a first-team All-American and the 1999 Division II Offensive Back of the Year by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette. A four-time all-conference selection, he was named the ECAC Player of the Year and the conference MVP in 1998 and 1999 – while also capturing the 1999 conference Offensive Player of the Year award.

Gailliard was named a New England Football Writers Division II-III All-Star in 1998 and 1999 and was a Gold Helmet Award winner in both seasons. In June 2008, he became the first-ever football player to be inducted into the Northeast-10 Hall of Fame from any institution.
