A fierce defender with a knack for finding the net, Nicole Sullivan of the Class of 2001 was a two-way threat for four years with the women’s soccer team. Sullivan’s freshman year in 1997 saw her tally a pair of goals and assists each. The table was set for the Yellow Jackets to advance, and they did the following year, going undefeated in Northeast-10 play in 1998, winning their first regular season title and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Sullivan earned First-Team All-NE10 and All-East Region honors for her skill in AIC’s backfield.

She continued to dominate opposing offenses through her junior and senior campaigns; in 1999, she was a Second-Team All-NE10 selection as well as earning First-Team All-New England honors from the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association. Sullivan’s breakout year came in 2000, her final campaign with the team. Helping the squad to a 10-3-1 record in NE10 play, Sullivan scored six goals and added six assists for a career-best 18 points. Her efforts on both ends of the pitch paid off, as she was named NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, the first AIC player so honored; she also earned First-Team All-NE10 and Second-Team All-Region selections for her play.
