Rafael Calixto was a two-time national qualifier and earned All-America honors after placing sixth at 126-lbs. at the 1997 NCAA Championships. He placed at the NCAA East-Region championships in each of his four years at AIC, including a pair of runner-up finishes at 141-lbs. in 2000 and 2001, ranks fourth at AIC in career (87) and is sixth in dual meet wins (45). Calixto was named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II All-Academic team three times from 1998-2000, and received the ECAC Academic Award in 1999. He was named team MVP in 1997, and was the recipient of the team’s academic award in 2000.
