Cal Conniff captained and coached the ski team at AIC and went on to have an outstanding career in the sport after graduation, which included hosting his own television ski show in Massachusetts. He went on to serve as Vice President and General Manager at the Mount Tom Ski Area for 14 years and served as Executive Director of the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) from 1973 to 1990, building it into a highly respected ski industry organization.

Conniff was inducted into the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame in 1990, but his career in the sport wasn’t done yet. He went on to serve as Historian, Secretary and Vice President of the New England Ski Museum and co-authored the book Skiing in Massachusetts in 2006, with proceeds benefiting the New England Ski Museum. The New England Ski Museum offers an annual grant bearing Conniff’s name “to support individuals and organizations that align with the Museum’s mission to preserve the history of skiing and winter sports.”
