SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – American International College Director of Athletics Rob Kearney announced the hiring of a pair of Massachusetts lacrosse legends with over 80 combined years of experience to lead the Yellow Jackets program, naming Keith Campbell as Head Men's Lacrosse Coach and Bussy Adam as Associate Men's Lacrosse Coach on Wednesday, January 14.

"I am thrilled to add Keith and Bussy to our Men's Lacrosse staff—two leaders poised to spark a transformational era for AIC. With decades of elite experience, they possess the vision and the 'lacrosse IQ' to bolster our program's success and initiate a complete cultural evolution. We are setting a new bar for AIC Lacrosse, and with Keith and Bussy at the helm, we are ready to achieve a level of excellence this program has never seen before. The transformation starts today," Kearney said.

"I am excited to fulfill our lifelong dream to coach at the NCAA level with Bussy Adam.," Campbell said.

"Lacrosse is a game of passion, and that is exactly what I saw in this team during our first meetings. Their work ethic and approach to the game made this an easy decision for me. Transitioning to the college level after four decades of coaching high school is a challenge I embrace, and I am thrilled to help lead a group of players whose values so closely mirror my own," Adam said.

Campbell comes to AIC from Longmeadow High School, where he was the head coach of the Lancers from 2015 to 2025. Taking over a program that was eliminated in the first round of the Western Mass playoffs, he has ten consecutive Western Mass first place finishes and been to five MIAA Championships, winning in 2022 and 2024. In addition to coaching, he has had 30 USA Lacrosse All-Americans, 11 Academic All-Americans, and a pair of Bob Scott Award recipients. Nearly 60 of his high school players went on to play collegiate lacrosse.

In addition to his high school expertise, Campbell worked with Piatelli Club Lacrosse from 2014 to 2025 as the program's recruiting coordinator, developing a comprehensive academic and athletic recruiting workflow with grade-specific milestones for high school athletes, creating recruiting bios and highlight videos for all high school players in the club program. In that decade, he placed more than 70 players in NCAA programs, with more than 25 of them becoming team captains and a collegiate graduation rate above 95 percent.

He also coached the Piatelli New England Collegiate team from 2023 to 2025, training the top collegiate players in New England; in his first year, the team reach the semifinals of the Lake Placid Summit Tournament and won the Open Gold Division in his second campaign.

Campbell earned a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Massachusetts.

Adam joins AIC after 41 years with Newton North High School, including the last 32 years as the head coach. With the Tigers, he posted a 441-179 record, winning 15 Bay State Conference titles, five Eastern Massachusetts Championships, and three MIAA State Championships, sending dozens of student-athletes to the NCAA level.

Adam additionally has extensive club coaching experience with Newton Youth Lacrosse, the Primetime Power Penguins, Warrior Elite, Kings Lacrosse, Piatelli Lacrosse, Stallions Lacrosse, and Freight Train Lacrosse; he has directed lacrosse camps and leagues in Newton since 1989 and has spent the last six years as the director of Breaker Summer Lacrosse Camps at the Roxbury Latin School.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Boston (then Boston State College) with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Adam is familiar with Springfield as a graduate of Western New England University, where he earned a master of science in criminal justice administration.

Adam was inducted into the Newton North High School Hall of Fame in 2004, the UMass Boston Hall of Fame in 2006, and the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame – Eastern Massachusetts Chapter in 2016. He has been Boston Globe Coach of the Year and Bay State League Coach of the Year, and earned the Judge Franklin Flaschner Adult Award for community leadership.
