OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – Sixth-ranked New York Institute of Technology opened the game with a 7-0 run and led 10-1 at the half on its way to a 14-7 non-conference won over the American International College men's lacrosse team Wednesday afternoon. The Bears improved to 3-1 for the season, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 0-1.
Freshman attack Luke Miller (Mastic, N.Y.) scored three goals with five assists for eight points while scooping four ground balls and causing three turnovers to lead NYIT. Freshman midfielder Brandon Gamblin (Lake Grove, N.Y.) netted three goals with one assist for a four-point game, while senior midfielder Jason Smith (Setauket, N.Y.) and sophomore attack Bobby Calhoun (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) tallied two goals each.

Bryce Serriello (Centerville, Mass.) scored a game-high four goals with two assists for six points while grabbing three ground balls and causing two turnovers in his collegiate debut for AIC. Sophomore midfielder

NYIT outshot AIC 15-21 and held a 55-31 advantage in ground balls. The Bears won 17-of-24 faceoffs and were 3-for-5 in man-up opportunities. The Yellow Jackets went 2-for-4 with the extra man.
AIC will be off until March 10 when it travels to Chestnut Hill College for a 12 p.m. non-conference contest.
