Men's Lacrosse falls at No. 1 Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, New York - The American International College men's lacrosse team fell 17-3 to two-time defending NCAA Division II National Champion and current national number one Adelphi University in a Northeast 10 Conference contest on Tuesday, March 17.

AIC is now 1-5 on the season and 0-1 in the NE10.

The lone Yellow Jackets goal in the first half was an unassisted effort by Jordan Boyenko at 2:04 of the second quarter. At halftime, the Panthers led 10-1.

Seven Gillingham had a hand in both of AIC's second-half goals, setting up Matt Smith at 14:37 and scoring on a feed from Boyenko at 6:47 of the fourth. 

Aidan Moscarello and Dameer Phifer each grabbed five ground balls; Phifer forced two takeaways as well. Nicholas Kendall made 12 saves.

AIC returns home Saturday, March 21 at 5:00 p.m. against Assumption University.
