PLEASANTVILLE, New York - Despite a career-best 24 saves from
Nicholas Kendall, the American International College men's lacrosse team fell 21-4 to No. 5 Pace University in Northeast 10 Conference play on Wednesday, April 1.
AIC is now 1-9 overall and 0-4 in the NE10.
Kendall and the defense were able to hold the Setters potent offense at bay for nearly nine minutes before Pace finally hit the net, but from there, they rattled off eight straight into the second frame before
Jacob Ligor netted AIC's only goal of the first half at 5:09 on a solo effort. After 30 minutes, the Setters led 10-1.
Pace continued to add goals with nine straight over the first 21 minutes of the second half, although AIC was able to score late in regulation three times. Camden Macdonald hit the net at 9:02 of the fourth on a feed from
Seven Gillingham, then set up Ligor's second of the game at 10:21. Finally, Macdonald found Max Smith open with 15 seconds left in regulation for AIC's last goal of the matchup.
AIC continues NE10 play on Saturday, April 4 against Bentley University at Abdow Field with a 6:00 p.m. opening faceoff.
