SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Sophomore linebacker Jaquawne Simpkins (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) of the American International College football team was named the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week, while three other Yellow Jackets earned a spot on the Honor Roll for their respective performances inn AIC's 27-23 win at Assumption.

Simpkins had a game-high 16 tackles (six solo) to lead the defense, which shutdown the Greyhounds in the fourth quarter as the Yellow Jackets rallied from a nine-point deficit. Senior defensive back Markell Rice (New Rochelle, N.Y.) had 10 tackles (five solo) with 1.5 for loss and a forced fumble on Assumption's final possession of the game to earn his place on the Honor Roll.

Sophomore quarterback Kevin Arduino (Corwall, N.Y.) was placed on the Honor Roll after completing 16-of-29 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns and carrying the ball times for 135 yards and another score. AIC trailed 23-14 early in the fourth quarter before Arduino engineered back-to-back touchdown scoring drive to give the Yellow Jackets the win.

Sophomore tight end Gary Farley (Blue Point, N.Y.) also earned a spot on the Honor Roll. He had five recep­tions for 43 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead 11-yard score with 4:34 remaining in the game.

The Yellow Jackets will next host a Northeast-10 contest against Stonehill College Friday night at 7 p.m. at Ronald J. Abdow Field.
