SETTING THE SCENE: The American International College football team looks to extend its winning streak to 10 games and improve to 4-0 on the season when it hosts Husson at John Homer Miller Field. This marks the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

LAST TIME OUT: AIC improved to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Northeast-10 after posting an impressive 49-20 win over Bentley College in its home opener. Parent completed 16-of-23 passes for 331 yards and six touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets. AIC broke the school record for passing touchdowns in a game with seven on the day, including a school-record tying six scoring passes from Parent. Quarterbacks coach Tom Guy set the record in AIC's 44-36 win over Bryant on November 4, 2000 and Parent tied that mark in AIC's 2008 season-opening 49-19 win at C.W. Post. Poole caught six passes for 111 yards and four touchdowns and Hussey had six catches for 183 yards and two TDs. Akingba had 20 carries for 94 yards on the afternoon. The Yellow Jackets held a 28-14 lead at halftime and scored three consecutive touchdowns to open the second half, including a spectacular diving grab by Poole in the endzone, to take a commanding 42-14 lead 4:51 into the fourth quarter. ABOUT HUSSON: The Eagles enter today's contest with a record of 2-1 on the season after beating Norwith, 25-19, last week. Husson opened the season with a 42-7 loss at Merrimack and then beat Utica 34-17. Julius Williams has carried the ball 66 times for 310 yards and three touchdowns and Justin Lindie has 65 carried for 282 yards and three scores. James McCandles is 20-of-44 passing for 285 yards and two TDs. Ben Grant has four catches and 124 yards and one touchdown and James Dobson has five catches for 81 yards and one TD. Kyle Vanidenstin leads the team with 17.5 tackles on the season. Bobby Gilbert is second on the team with 17 tackles and leads the team with seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
ON A ROLL: The win over Bentley was AIC's ninth in a row, a streak that began with a 44-21 win over Merrimack on October 6, 2007. The win was also the Yellow Jackets 11th consecutive home victory, which dates back to November 5, 2005 when AIC recorded a 51-28 win over Saint Anselm.
RECORD STREAKS IN REACH: AIC's nine-game winning streak is currently the third-longest winning streak in program history. The Yellow Jackets won 10 straight games spanning the 1979-80 seasons and won a school-record 11 consecutive games spanning the 1974-75 seasons. A win today would tie this year's start with the 1952 and 1978 teams that also opened the season 4-0 for the third-longest winning streak to open a season. The Yellow Jackets opened the 1980 season with six straight wins and the 1975 squad opened the year with a school-record eight consecutive Ws.
