Track battles at NE10 Championship

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut - The American International College track and field team competed at the Northeast 10 Conference Championship on May 1-2 at Southern Connecticut State University, earning seven medals on the weekend.

The men scored 48 points to finish sixth of eight teams, while the women scored 41 points to take seventh of nine teams.

Jodiann Ebanks nabbed a bronze medal, finishing third in the 100-meter dash in 12.34 seconds. She was joined by Johnelle Thomas on the podium, as the grad student took silver with a time of 1:02.97 in the 400-meter hurdles. 

Justin Baker earned two individual medals, taking silver in the 100-meter dash in 10.71 seconds and bronze in the 200-meter dash in 21.41 seconds. 

Romel Plummer ran a provisional qualifying time to take silver in the 400-meter hurdles, completing the race in 52.33 seconds.

Baker and Plummer also played a role on bronze medal-winning relays; the duo, along with Mike Ricketts and Nicardo Clarke, ran a 41.25-second time in the 4x100-meter relay, and Plummer also anchored the 4x400-meter relay behind Junior Grant, Kevin Brady, and Ricketts, which finished in 3:15.88.
