Track races at Queens Knights Invitational

QUEENS, New York - The American International College track and field team competed at the Queens Knights Invitational on Friday, April 10.

Jodiann Ebanks won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.64 seconds to lead the women's contingent, while Hawaye Adam took the long jump in 5.34 meters and was second in the triple jump at 11.03 meters. Saskia Lawson took second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:25.17.

Justin Baker and Nicardo Clarke went 1-2 for the men in the 100-meter dash in 11.04 and 11.23 seconds, respectively. Junior Grant and Baker likewise took the top spots in the 200-meter dash in 22.36 and 22.72 seconds, and then Grant and Kevin Brady finished first and second in the 400-meter dash in 48.70 and 49.61 seconds.

Trey Fitzpatrick took second in the 1500-meter run in 4:29.34, and Romel Plummer won the 400-meter hurdles in 54.90 seconds. 

Grant, Plummer, Vasillios Parsley, and Brady combined for a stellar 4x400-meter relay of 3:25.46 seconds to win that event, while Harvey Lys won the high jump in 1.90 meters. Nnaemeka Amaechina took the triple jump thanks to his final leap of 13.46 meters, and Cameron Lampkin rounded out AIC's medalists with a second-place finish in the shot put at 12.41 meters.
