Five from track garner six medals at NE10 Championships

BOSTON, Massachusetts - The American International College track and field program sent five student-athletes to the podium a total of six times at the 2026 Northeast 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship, held on February 19-20 at the TRACK at new balance.

Both teams finished seventh overall, with AIC's men scoring 51 points and the women 37; those represent improvements of 30 and 28 points over the 2025 event, respectively.

Romel Plummer medals in the 60-meter dash, running 6.93 seconds to take third; Justin Baker snagged three points with a 6.96-second showing to finish sixth.

Junior Grant ran second in the 200-meter dash, with a national qualifying time of 21.53 seconds to take a silver medal. He also finished fifth in the 400-meter dash in 48.61 for an additional four points.

Harvey Lys scored a point in the 60-meter hurdles, going through in 8.84 seconds. He was much stronger in the high jump, only bowing out after clearing 1.96 meters for second place and his first career silver medal.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Baker, Vasilios Parsley, Kevin Brady, and Grant clocked a 3:22.40 for a fourth-place finish and five points ; Parsley, Trey Fitzpatrick, Silas Choge, and Evan Dube scored two more points with an 8:47.60 for seventh in the 4x800-meter relay, while Fitzpatrick, Louis Meade, Parsley, and Dube were sixth in the distance medley relay for three points in 12:00.59.

Two more jumpers scored for AIC; Saundrae Palmer Jr. was fifth in the long jump at 6.80 meters, and Nnaemeka Amaechina scored sixth in the triple jump at 12.83 meters.

Rounding out the men's scoring, Kareem Jeffries Hazard was fifth in the weight throw, launching his last toss 15.38 meters.

AIC's gold-medal finish came courtesy of Jodiann Ebanks, who won the 200-meter dash in 25.12 seconds; Sydnee Collins also finished fourth with a time of 25.38 seconds to add another five points.

Johnelle Thomas took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.93 seconds.

Hawaye Adam grabbed a pair of silver medals in jumping events, taking second in the long jump at 5.39 meters and in the triple jump at 11.20 meters. Her 16 points tied her for the most by any rookie in the conference.

Rebecca Toure rounded out AIC's scoring for the women, throwing 13.44 meters in the weight throw for a seventh-place finish.
