SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College volleyball team returned home for its second home game of the season. The Yellow Jackets swept Saint Anselm College, 3-0, on Thursday, September 27.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Yellow Jackets came out swinging and jumped out to the early 5-1 lead. AIC then extended its lead to 19-11 before taking the first set 25-19.
- Tied 2-2 in the early stages of the second set, AIC went on a 6-0 run to take the 8-2 lead. Up 18-12, sophomore outside hitter Andrea Serra started a 6-0 run in which she had one kill and two aces, while senior outside hitter Diva Rivas-Reyes had two kills and junior outside hitter Jana Potic had one kill.
- In the third set, the Hawks trailed 17-15 when they went on a 5-0 run to take the 20-17 lead. AIC rallied back to tie the game at 22 before the Hawks took the 24-22 lead. Serra once again stepped up to the moment with a kill and an error. Rivas-Reyes also had a kill, while sophomore middle blocker Victoria Perini ended the match with a kill. AIC took the third set 26-24.
GAME NOTES:
- With a kill in the third set against Holy Family on September 7, Rivas-Reyesbecame the fifth player in AIC program history with 1,000 career kills. She recently jumped into fourth place in program history with 1,100 kills. She currently trails Sarah Neaves, who has 1,148 career kills, by 48.
- Poticjumped into sixth place in program history in kills against Stonehill College on September 11. She currently has 997 kills. She trails Jamie Hutchison by five kills for fifth place.
- Rivas-Reyes is currently fourth place in program history in points with 1,168.5. She currently trails Sarah Neaves who scored 1,317 points in her career at AIC. Right behind her is Potic, who has scored 1,162.5 points in her career so far.
