SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College volleyball team hosted The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference action on Tuesday, October 23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Trailing 4-1 in the first set, the Yellow Jackets used a Golden Knight service error to swing the momentum in their favor. AIC went on a 20-3 run that lasted through two Saint Rose timeouts. AIC went on to take the first set, 25-13.
- Trailing 4-2 in the second set, AIC once again went on a run, this time to take a 8-5 lead. Saint Rose tied the set back up at nine before the Yellow Jackets took the 14-9 lead. Down 20-15, the Golden Knights tried to fight back, but their late push was not enough at AIC took the set, 25-21.
- Tied at 10 in the third set, AIC started to pull away with a 10-1 run. Once again, the Golden Knights tried to make a late push, but AIC took the set, 25-18, and the match, 3-0.
BUZZWORTHY:
- The Yellow Jackets held the Golden Knights to a .064 swing percentage. The only time AIC forced a worse percentage this season was against Bentley University on September 25, when the Falcons swung .027
- AIC also held Saint Rose to just 26 kills, the lowest amount of kills for the Golden Knights this season.
- Senior outside hitterDiva Rivas-Reyes is the fifth player in AIC program history to pass 1,000 career kills. She currently sits in third place in program history with 1,216 kills while trailingEllisha Terry, who had 1,286 kills from 2008-11. Should Rivas-Reyes pass Terry, she would hold the rally scoring era program record.
- Junior outside hitterJana Poticrecorded her 1,000th career kill at Adelphi on September 29. Currently, Potic has 1,159 kills, which is good enough for fifth place in program history. With her performance against The College of Saint Rose, she jumped Sarah Neaves, who had 1,148 kills, for fourth place. She now trails her teammate Rivas-Reyes for third place.
- Potic jumped ahead of Rivas-Reyes in total points in program history on October 2 at Franklin Pierce. Potic recently pasted Neaves in total points. She currently has 1,344, with Rivas-Reyes right behind her with 1,296.5 career points. Potic is now chasing Ellisha Terry, who had 1,487.5 points from 2008-11. Should Potic pass Terry, she would hold the rally scoring era program record.
