MANSFIELD, Mass. The American International College women's soccer team placed three players on Northeast-10 All-Conference Teams as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
Sophomore midfielder Jessica Margaretta (Coloniers, France) was placed on the first-team after landing on the second-team and being named Rookie of the Year last season.
Junior back Romina Bell (Stockerau, Austria) finds herself on the second-team after having the most consistent season for the Yellow Jackets. She was also a second-team honoree last season.
Bell was third on the team with one goal and a team leading three assists for five points. The junior constantly generated scoring chances for AIC off of free-kicks and even got one to find the back of the net for a game-winning tally against New Haven.
Junior forward Brittany Barry (Springfield, Mass.) was named to the third-team after her first season in Springfield after spending her freshman and sophomore campaigns at rival Saint Rose.
Barry finished second on the team with four goals and one assist for nine points this season.
This is the second time Barry has made an all-conference team after landing on the second-team and the all-rookie squad after her break-through freshman year in 2011 as a Golden Knight.
Barry and Bell were two of just four Yellow Jackets to start in all 16 games this season and Bell is the only player to not take a break as she played every minute of the season for AIC.
American Int'l struggled at times this season finishing with an overall record of 4-11-1 and a 4-9-1 conference mark which was good for 13th in the league.
However, with Margaretta, Bell, Barry and a whole host of returning players, the Yellow Jackets remain optimistic and look to rebound in 2015.
