NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - American International College women's soccer sophomore defender
Romina Bell (Stockerau, Austria) was named the Northeast-10 defensive player of the week announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Bell was an integral part in keeping the ball out of the net in AIC's 1-0-1 week, drawing Adelphi 0-0 and defeating Franklin Pierce 2-0 for the Yellow Jacket's 14th and 15th shutouts of the season.
AIC has only allowed four goals all season and Bell, along with the other defenders, has played a huge roll in keeping opponents off the scoreboard.
The Yellow Jackets open the postseason Tuesday, November 5 at home on Abdow Field when they play host to the NE-10 quartefinals matchup with Assumption. Game is slated to start at 7 p.m.
