BOSTON, Massachusetts – The Boston Banshees, members of Women's Elite Rugby, have signed American International College women's rugby back Morgan Schechter '26, the team announced.
Schechter will join the team ahead of its match against TC Gemini on Saturday, May 30.

"I saw Morgan play at CRC's and was immediately impressed by her footwork, speed, determination and grit, all of which has already been on display at training. After speaking with Morgan more, we knew it was the right fit for her to join the Banshees," said Banshees Head Coach Kitt Ruiz.

"I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to play with the Boston Banshees and to represent AIC women's rugby, a program that has pushed me to grow as both an athlete and a person. I know I wouldn't be here without the guidance and belief of my coach, who has supported me every step of the way. My teammates at AIC who have shaped me, challenged me, and helped me become the player I am today. And above all, my family back home has given me the strength and encouragement to chase this dream!" Schechter said.

A standout across the back for the Yellow Jackets in both 15s and 7s, Schechter's intensity and relentless effort allowed her to play multiple positions from fly half to fullback, helping AIC tailor its lineup to best attack the weaknesses of its opposition.

That was crucial for the Yellow Jackets in winning back-to-back NIRA Division II National Championships in 2024 and 2025, and then the team's first ever CRC National Championship in 7s in the spring of 2026 as AIC dethrone the three-time defending winners from Brown University. Schechter scored five tries in that tournament, including the opening score against the Bears just 38 seconds into the championship contest.

On an individual level, she was a three-time All-NIRA selection for her work in the 15s season, including a First-Team accolade at wing in 2023 and at fly half during the most recent season.
AIC Director of Rugby Jameson Bonti lauded Schechter as a player and a person.

"Morgan has been an incredibly important cultural leader within our program and someone who consistently elevates the people around her through her professionalism, composure, and work ethic. As a dynamic 10/15, she has the ability to shift momentum instantly through her game management, vision, and ability to manipulate field space and territorial pressure. Beyond her talent as a player, Morgan brings maturity, resilience, and leadership qualities that make her a phenomenal addition to the Boston Banshees environment.
