SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's rugby team scored early and often, stunning Brown University 77-12 in a National Intercollegiate Rugby Association Division I matchup on Saturday, October 10.

AIC is now 2-1 on the season.

Brown knocked on the opening kickoff, and that proved to be an ill omen for the Bears, as out of the ensuing scrum, SaTya Miller cut over the middle and scored barely 90 seconds into the game; Camryn Henderson made the first of her five conversions on the day to give AIC a 7-0 lead.

From there, AIC started stacking points. Jendell Moe powered over the line in the 13th minute to double the home advantage, and Naomi Dodd scored back-to-back tries in the 17th and 21st minutes to build a 24-0 edge.

Brown broke the run on a Maggie Hoffman-Long cut through the middle, but AIC answered with three more tries before the break; Henderson put down the first of those in the 33rd minute, while Queralt Beuter and Dodd each scored in the final minute of the half to stake AIC to a 41-7 lead at the break.

Dodd then added a fourth try by scoring on the opening kickoff of the second, continuing AIC's run. Amalani Bonds and Kiyanah Edwards each put the ball down beyond the line to add on, with AIC's lead reaching 60-7 as Henderson hit both conversions.

Brown struck again, with Adrienne Elizabeth Walby scoring to cut back AIC's edge briefly, but Rafielle Barrack, Shaidynn Elama, and Calliope Fellouzis each scored down the stretch to add on; Luna Bussing converted successfully after Elama's try for the 77-12 final.

AIC next faces Sacred Heart University on Friday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. in Fairfield, Connecticut.
