WORCESTER, Massachusetts - The American International College women's lacrosse team fell 16-5 to Assumption University in Northeast 10 Conference play on Wednesday, March 11.
AIC is now 0-4 on the season and 0-1 in the NE10.
Assumption scored all but one of the first-half goals; AIC's lone tally was
Gabrielle Walz finishing an
Isabelle Stone feed at 10:43. At the break, AIC trailed 12-1.
The second half was much more even; Walz scored two more for AIC, with a man-up marker from Stone at 12:52 of the third, and then an even-strength strike off of a feed from
Julya Mae Jones for her first collegiate assist at 2:11 of the fourth.
Kathryn Lettieri scored the final two goals of the game, from Stone at 10:23 and from Walz at 14:59, for the 16-5 final.
Maggie Kloster made 16 saves in the setback.
AIC returns home on Friday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m. against Felician University.
