SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – Following the success of three straight seasons of having volleyball games broadcast in Spanish, the American International College Office of Athletic Communications will provide Spanish-language streams of two Northeast 10 Conference soccer contests over the next two weeks.

The AIC men's soccer game against Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, October 21 and the AIC women's soccer game against Pace University on Wednesday, October 28 will have Spanish-language commentary options.

Both games are slated for 6:00 p.m. kickoffs.

"Our efforts with volleyball have drawn significant notice, and student-athletes from our other teams have been asking when their turn will be. I am excited for them, and more excited for their families who will get to see and hear their student-athletes play in their native language," said Coordinator of Athletic Communications Seth Dussault.

The broadcast booth for the Spanish-language commentary will be filled with current AIC student-athletes as well. Ramiro Mendez de Olivera and Ivan Rossi, who commentated the most recent women's volleyball match in Spanish, will be on the call for both games, joined by Bautista Marinkovic. The trio are all men's rugby student-athletes at AIC; Mendez de Olivera is from Uruguay, while Rossi and Marinkovic hail from Argentina.

The soccer programs at AIC both heavily feature student-athletes from Spanish-speaking countries or of Hispanic descent; notably, five members of the men's team are from Spain, as is women's team captain Elena Nunez, and student-athletes on the squads also hail from the Dominican Republic and Argentina.

The games will be streamed on FloCollege, the official streaming partner of the Northeast 10 Conference. Links are available to broadcasts in both English and Spanish on the respective schedule pages for the teams on www.aicyellowjackets.com.
