CONCORD, New Hampshire -
Daniel Kibe rebounded from a tough first round with two fantastic rounds as the American International College men's golf team finished seventh of nine teams at Southern New Hampshire University's Granite State Opener held at the Beaver Meadow Golf Course on September 15-16.
AIC shot a 29-over 893 (307-285-301) across the two-day tournament.
Max Shepardson (74-72-78) was AIC's leader in the morning of day one, firing a team-best two-over score and following with an even-par round in the afternoon.
Kibe (85-69-72) was fifth on the team after a tough start to the day. However, he locked in on his second turn around the course, completing the 18 holes in just 69 shots, including a three on the par-5 10th hole and three birdies. He proved it was no fluke, repeating the eagle on the same hole on the following day and adding four more birdies to his card.
In total, AIC had five rounds at even or better; in addition to Shepardson's pair on the first day and Kibe's impressive three-under second round,
Brendan Raymond (79-72-76) was on par in his second run through thanks to four birdies and
Matthew Garrity (78-72-76) also was even in the second round with three birdies.
AIC will head back to Western Massachusetts for the AIC Invitational at The Ranch Golf Club on September 24-25.
