CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts - The American International College men's soccer team fell 5-0 to Boston College in an interdivisional battle on Tuesday, October 14.
AIC is now 1-5-4 overall on the season.
The Eagles struck on a pretty passing play just 44 seconds in as Ask Ekeland finished a cross pass from Erick Almendares at the left side of the six after Almendares received a touch-pass through ball on the right from Nikolai Rojel.
AIC held strong from there, however, thanks in part to six saves by Javier Solá Martínez, and made it to the halftime break without conceding another goal.
In the second half, the Eagles took a 2-0 lead as Rojel tapped in a corner kick by Aidan Farwell that went from the left side to just in front of the right post at 52:11.
That set off a scoring explosion for the Eagles, who scored two more goals in a 2:01 span beginning eight minutes later, and added one more at 83:26 for the 5-0 final.
Solá Martínez made five more saves in the second half, totaling 11 for the game.
AIC returns to NCAA Division II and Northeast 10 Conference play on Saturday, October 18 at Adelphi University. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
