HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Dolphins swam out to an early lead with three goals by Jessica Meneilly as part of a five-goal run in the opening 3:36 before Kathryn Moody broke the tie with a free position strike. After one, Le Moyne led 8-1.
  • Le Moyne continued to control the game in the second quarter, despite a brilliant goal set up by Liz Day, who made a move to get free of a defender and fed Sam Giordano in front for a tally at 7:35. At the break, the score was 13-2.
  • The Dolphins scored the first goal of the third, but AIC began to fight back. Molly Leavitt found Moody free in front at 5:41, and after a Haley Emmick goal for the Dolphins brought the lead to 15-3, Day and Giordano each hit the net, and Antonella Mikolyuk scored with nine seconds left in the period to cut the deficit to 15-6.
  • The run continued into the fourth, with Day adding a second tally at 1:37.
  • The teams traded goals the rest of the way, with Anevay Rice scoring a man-up marker and Mikolyuk closing the scoring by winning a draw and driving straight to the cage as the Dolphins held for a 19-9 win.

  • With her two goals, Moody became the first Yellow Jacket this season to hit the 20-goal mark, nine games into the season.
