HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Although New Haven jumped to an early 2-0 lead on a pair of Marina Skelly goals in the first 2:24, AIC's Jessica Stone made three stops to keep the Chargers from getting away in the game. That allowed the Yellow Jackets to obtain the next goal, a passing play from Kathryn Moody that Liz Day finished at 12:45.
- New Haven took over the half, scoring the next 10 goals, with a Sam Giordano tally late in the second leaving the score 12-2 Chargers at the break.
- The third quarter ran through most of its first 10 minutes before AIC hit the net again, with Liz Day scoring her second at 9:33. That set off a mini run of goals, as Skelley added two for New Haven and Moody scored for AIC, bringing the total to 14-4 New Haven.
- Molly Leavitt set up Giordano early in the fourth, and then scored the final goal of the game on a pass from Antonella Mikolyuk, but the Chargers took the game 19-5.
