HOW IT HAPPENED:
- AIC came out hot in the first inning. After senior Brandon Gaul retired the Greyhounds in order junior Chad Lavelle doubled down the right field line to get things started for AIC at the plate. He came around to score on a single to centerfield by junior Michael Cruz. Junior Alejandro Mosquera singled to left and came around to score on a single by rookie Kiernan Caffery.
- The game remained quiet until the sixth inning when the Greyhounds tied the game. In the top of the seventh, they added five runs on three hits followed by four runs in the top of the eighth to take the 11-2 lead. In their half of the ninth, they added a pair of insurance runs.
- The AIC bats came back alive in the bottom of the ninth. Sophomore Andrew Bumpus led the inning off with a single down the right field line. Rookie Javier Gonzalez reached on a fielder's choice and Bumpus advanced to second as the throw from the first basemen was off the mark. After a walk to sophomore Darion Crawford senior Angel Mendez singled to left center and pushed two runs across. Lavelle singled to right which allowed Crawford to score and Mendez to scamper to third.
- After a call to the arm barn by the Greyhounds, Cruz walked to load the bases. Mosquera singled to left center and two Yellow Jackets touched home to make it 13-7.
