HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first half, the Yellow Jackets put pressure on Mercy goaltender Melissa Torres, as Caroline Porter had two shots on goal while Rachel Newman and Josephine Stendahl added two more. Mercy was unable to penetrate the AIC defense and did not record a single shot on goal in the half.
- The second half proved to be better for Mercy as the Mavericks were able to notch one of their two shots on goal from Marlene Avalos. AIC added two more shots on goal from Trystin Burger and Gabby Williams.
- After regulation ended the teams battled fiercely through the extra time, each adding another shot on goal each before ultimately ending in a 0-0 tie. In total, Tamra Zippin tallied a pair of saves, while Torres made seven as the goalkeepers both earned shutouts in the draw.
