Pace slips past field hockey in home opener

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College field hockey team dropped a 7-0 decision against Pace University in a nonconference matchup on Saturday, September 4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Pace struck first in the opening frame, converting a penalty corner as Krista Dietz finished a pass from Cienna Bosher at 8:29.

  • The corner offense for the Setters went 3-for-3 in the second frame, as Hannah Wyllie made it 2-0 just 54 seconds into the period and Dietz and Francesca Fava each converted corners just 1:15 apart to bring the score to 4-0 at the 22:09 mark.

  • In the third, Pace added a late goal to make it 5-0 as Mylaina Schippers scored at 43:41.

  • Bosher scored at 49:57 and Hannah McKensie tallied at 52:06 to finalize the scoring.
