Chelsea Davis in net was not quite enough as No. 9 Adelphi University defeated the American International College women's lacrosse team 11-7 on Saturday, April 10 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- AIC raced out to an early lead, as sophomore Liz Day set up classmate Kaitlyn Morris for a goal just 30 seconds into the game and then scored one of her own at 2:26.
- The Panthers fought back, taking a 3-2 lead after a run of goals that included a tally and an assist by Kristina Kallansrude.
- Day leveled the score at 14:55, and the teams traded goals after that, with Kristina Schweitzer putting the visitors back in the lead at 16:42 before senior Devin Coulter finished a feed from rookie Cassie Hemmerdinger at 18:52.
- Graduate student Krista Iwanicki put the Yellow Jackets back on top at 22:15.
- Kaylee Lamonica tied the game at 26:55, but that tie lasted barely half a minute as Coulter drew an eight-meter and scored on it with 2:28 to play in the half, giving AIC a 6-5 lead into the break.
- Adelphi regrouped in the second half and took the lead just 2:35 in as Schweitzer scored twice.
- Christina Ferrara added to the Adelphi lead with two goals in 58 seconds, giving the Panthers a 9-6 edge at 12:24.
- Day completed her hat trick and gave AIC hope with a goal at 22:48, but the Panthers netted the game's last two tallies for the 11-7 win.
THE LATEST CHELSEA DAVIS HIGHLIGHT:
- Davis turned in a brilliant performance in the net, making 15 saves, including a spectacular diving stop late in the first half.
- She also caused three turnovers and scooped seven ground balls; she is now one back of Gina Gallo '11 for the most in program history, at 168 compared to Gallo's 169.
