Men's lacrosse tripped up at Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, New Hampshire A strong first quarter by freshman goalkeeper Ryan Day helped the American International College men's lacrosse team lead early, but Franklin Pierce University ultimately pulled away for a 17-4 win in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday, April 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Yellow Jackets drew first blood late in the first quarter, as redshirt sophomore Stephen Stratton hit the net at 10:37 to open the scoring. His tally was the only strike of the frame.
  • The Ravens tied the game early in the second on a goal by Conor Rooney, but redshirt sophomore Rusty Stone put his team back ahead at 2:34 on a dish from classmate Sal Amaral.
  • Franklin Pierce tied the game again at 3:23 and opened a run of scoring, with Josh Dorr netting two goals as the hosts ultimately took a 6-2 lead into the break.
  • Dorr completed his hat trick to start the third, as the Ravens built up their lead.
  • AIC struck back for the first two goals of the final frame, as redshirt sophomore Jason Vickery was set up by redshirt freshman Jakeim Pratt at 1:27 and redshirt sophomore Devon Walker fired a shot home at 7:33, but the Ravens closed on a three-goal run to earn the 17-4 victory.
