NEW HAVEN, Connecticut - The American International College baseball team fell 9-2 to Southern Connecticut State University in Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division play on Tuesday, April 23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Owls got on the board first with an RBI single through the left side.
- Senior Brendan Carter tied the game up at one after scoring redshirt senior Reed Phillips with a sacrifice fly.
- In the fourth inning, senior Matthew Elliott connected on a solo home run to give the Yellow Jackets a one-run lead.
- In the bottom half of the fourth, Southern Connecticut quickly regained the lead with a single through the right side and a double down the right-field line.
- The following inning, SCSU continued to add to their lead, scoring runs four and five for the Owls in the bottom of the fifth.
- The Owls put the game away in the eighth inning when they got out to a 9-2 lead and defeated the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, April 23.
BUZZWORTHY:
- Elliott's home run in the fourth inning was his second dinger of the season.
