WEEKLY PREVIEW: Adelphi, SCSU, Queens and Le Moyne

The American International College baseball team will take on No. 19 Adelphi, Southern Connecticut, and Queens before taking on Le Moyne in a three-game series in a weeklong span from Monday, April 22 to Sunday, April 28.

LAST TIME THEY MET:
  • AIC took on Adelphi earlier this year on Sunday, March 30. The Yellow Jackets handed Adelphi their first, and so far only, conference loss as AIC took game two in their doubleheader, 9-2.
  • Wednesday's matchup vs. the Knights will be the first time AIC and Queens will face each other.
  • AIC last took on Le Moyne at the end of last season on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in a doubleheader. The Yellow Jackets split against then-No. 15 Le Moyne, winning 5-1 in game one and falling 4-2 in the second game.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS:
  • The Panthers currently hold the No. 19 rank in the nation.
  • Pitcher Ed Barum has been unstoppable on the mound for the Panthers. In just over 51 innings pitched, Barum has struck out 51 batters and posted a 0.53 ERA.

SCOUTING THE OWLS:
  • The Owls are coming off a 16-7 win over the Yellow Jackets, their third home win of the season.
  • When the Owls offense is clicking, they can put runs on the scoreboard, scoring 15 or more runs seven times this season.
  • Down in Lantana, Florida, SCSU scored a season-high 22 runs in a 22-2 victory over Caldwell University

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS:
  • In the East Coast Conference, the Knights are two games over .500 with a 10-8 record.
  • At home, Queens has been impressive, winning 10 of 12 games at Hennekens Stadium.
  • Pitcher Dennis Buckstein leads the team with 69 strikeouts on the year.
  • As a team, the Knights are hitting .310 from the plate.

SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS:
  • The Dolphins have played 22 road games already this season and have won 12.
  • Le Moyne is coming off back to back wins against New Haven to help lift its NE10 record to .500.
