HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Both teams struggled to possess the ball in the early going; AIC finally finished a possession with a tally to open the scoring at 4:27 as freshman attacker Avery Foye snapped home a shot, but Bradley Paterson responded to tie the game just 39 seconds later.
  • Neither team scored in the remainder of the quarter, despite chances at both ends; Pace nearly netted one late, but a string of three saves by rookie goalkeeper Alphonse Ferrintino kept the tally level at 1-1 after one.
  • The Yellow Jackets retook the lead at 0:52 of the second as senior midfielder Quinn Caesar hit the target. This lead lasted just 38 seconds before Connor Vercruysse drew the contest even at 2-2.
  • AIC drew a penalty and had a chance to take the lead, but Pace scored a man-down goal instead to get on top for the first time at 4:41. That sparked a run that lasted through the halftime break, which came with Pace leading 7-2.
  • In the third, Pace pulled away with ten goals, including a natural hat trick by Vercruysse and four goals by Tim Cairo; freshman attacker Rusty Stone scored AIC's only marker of the frame at 10:45.
  • The fourth quarter was more even, with Pace adding five goals and AIC three; Foye and Caesar each scored a second goal, and freshman midfielder Sal Amaral notched a late tally as part of the 22-6 final.

WALL-PHONSE:
  • Ferrintino made 19 saves for the third time this season after doing so in each of his first two games.
