HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Purple Knights roared out of the gates, scoring the game's first six goals just 7:40 into the matchup, with two man-down tallies opening the run. Freshman midfielder Sal Amaral bounced in a shot at 13:25 to put AIC on the board and cut the deficit to 6-1.
  • In a much more even second frame, the hosts were held to three goals, but once again the Yellow Jackets managed just one tally, a shot by freshman attacker Rusty Stone at 13:48.
  • Stone struck again to open the third frame on a man-up marker at 2:46. The Purple Knights responded with two tallies, but the Yellow Jackets beat the buzzer to even the period's scoring as freshman attacker Avery Foye snapped home a shot with no time left on the clock.
  • The home side notched the first five goals in the fourth frame, with Foye striking again at 12:26 to close the scoring in the 16-5 final.

BEATTIE BUSTS TURNOVERS RECORD:
  • Beattie's seven caused turnovers in the contest set a new standard for the program for a single game.
  • The previous high of six had been accomplished several times, most recently by Luke Allen on April 22, 2017, at Saint Michael's.
  • Beattie now has caused 25 turnovers this season, tied for fourth-most in program history and one back of second; the program record of 32 was set by Quinn Smith in 2010.
  • Both the men's and women's team have had this record broken this season; Brianna O'Brien caused eight turnovers against Bentley on February 27 to set the standard for her program.

NEXT UP:
  • AIC hosts its home finale on Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m., hosting Southern New Hampshire.
  • The team will honor its lone senior, Quinn Caesar, before the game.
