Men's basketball drops road matchup to Bentley

WALTHAM, Massachusetts The American International College men's basketball team fell 72-58 to Bentley University in a nonconference match-up on Sunday, December 1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The game started with a foul from junior point guard Jordan Vidal, allowing Bentley to get on the board first. Vidal responded with a three-pointer to give AIC the 3-1 lead.
  • With the score tied at three, senior forward Goree Venable-Gonzalez converted on an and-one to spark an 8-1 AIC run, putting his team up 11-4 with 14:16 left in the first half.
  • At the halfway mark of the first half, the Falcons battled back to trail the Yellow Jackets by just three, 18-15. Goree helped increase the Yellow Jackets lead up to eight points with a dunk at the 8:45 mark, but the Falcons continued to chip away and managed to enter the locker room with a two-point advantage over AIC at the half, 30-28.
  • Bentley used their momentum from the end of the first half and carried it over to the second half. The Falcons started the second half with an and-one to go up five points.
  • Redshirt-freshman guard Bane Terzic helped tie the game at 35 after a layup and three-pointer.
  • The score would not last knotted at 35 for long. The Falcons quickly went on an 8-0 run to lead the Yellow Jackets with 15 minutes to go.
  • With 9:26 remaining and AIC down 49-42, Bentley went on a 12-0 run to lead by 19 points with only 6:24 remaining.
  • Down 24 with less than five minutes in the game, freshman guard Jalen Jordan and Vidal knocked down a pair three-pointers to help ignite a 13-3 run to finish out the game. However, it was not enough, as the Yellow Jackets fell 72-58 to the Falcons.
