HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After the Panthers scored the first basket of the game, redshirt-sophomore forward Bane Terzic answered with a nice three off the pass from junior guard Xion Golding. The Yellow Jackets trailed 8-6 with 13:29 left in the opening frame when junior point guard Jordan Vidal grabbed the defensive rebound and found senior forward Zekiah Owens on the break as Owens nailed the jumper. On their next possession, Golding grabbed the offensive board and laid it in. After a missed three by the home team, senior guard Logan Santiago got his hands on the rebound and went the length of the floor for the jumper to give AIC the 12-8 lead with 10:35 on the clock. In the final four minutes of the half, the Panthers held the Yellow Jackets to six points as they led 37-21 at the break.
  • A minute into the second half, Golding knocked down a jumper while drawing the foul as he completed the old fashioned three-point play. With 15 minutes left in the first half, Santiago nailed a three, on his way to scoring a team-high 13 points, to make it a 44-30 game. The Panthers' offense was too much as they took the game 75-54.
UP NEXT:
  • The Yellow Jackets return home on Tuesday, December 10 when they host the University of New Haven at 7:30 p.m.
