HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Despite a decisive possession advantage in the first quarter, Stonehill and AIC were scoreless after 15 minutes, as the Yellow Jackets defense held the Skyhawks to just two shots on target.
- Stonehill did break through in the second quarter, as Andrea Caradonna jammed in a rebound on a corner at 16:57; the Skyhawks held the 1-0 edge at the break.
- In the third quarter, Stonehill nearly scored again as sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Stone made the initial save on a bid and senior Jenny Holmquist made a defensive save on the rebound to keep the game at 1-0.
- The Skyhawks found the net midway through the fourth, with Elisha Brinkman swatting a shot home from the left side of the circle on a cross pass from Emma Mawn at 53:15.
- AIC had two chances late, as senior Georgia Barnes fired a shot from the right that Katie Lammando stopped; Barnes got to her own rebound but fired high and the Skyhawks held on for the 2-0 final.
