SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College men's basketball team defeated Stonehill College 75-57 on Wednesday, January 9 at Butova Gym in Northeast-10 Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Yellow Jackets made it on the board first after sophomore guard Xion Golding converted a lay-up to open the scoring. Stonehill responded to tie the game at two, but after a dunk by sophomore guard Adonis Williams and a three-pointer by freshman guard Isaiah Salter, AIC led Stonehill 7-2 with 17:45 remaining in the half. At the 15:50 mark, up 10-7, AIC went on a 7-0 run, extending the lead to 10 points, 17-7. Halfway through the first half, junior guard Logan Santiago fed sophomore point guard Jordan Vidal for a knock-down three, giving AIC a 28-17 lead.
With 7:37 remaining, Santiago drilled a three, giving AIC its largest lead of the half, up 15 on the Skyhawks, 34-19. Stonehill cut the lead down to eight with 2:25 remaining in the first, but AIC entered the half up 10 points, 40-30.
With the score at 44-33, Golding and Salter buried a pair of threes, giving AIC a 50-34 lead with 13:43 remaining. Shortly after, the Yellow Jackets started a 9-0 run, ultimately ending up ahead by 21 with 9:05 remaining. The 21 point lead would be too much to overcome, giving AIC the win over Stonehill, 75-57.

The Yellow Jackets will host St. Michael's College on Saturday, January 12 at 3:30 pm. The game will be held at Butova Gym.
