HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Yellow Jackets won the coin flip and deferred to the second half. On the opening drive of the game, the Pioneers went 52 yards on 11 plays, but missed a 35-yard field goal with 10:02 on the clock.
  • After a three-and-out by the AIC offense, the defense got the ball back on an interception by redshirt-freshman defensive back DeShawn Givens who ran it to midfield for a 48-yard return. The Yellow Jackets were not able to convert the turnover. After the first quarter, the Yellow Jackets and Pioneers were tied at zero.
  • LIU Post opened the second quarter with a 49-yard field goal with 12:25 left on the clock in the half. With 1:50 left in the half, Yellow Jacket redshirt-junior Darien Keith picked off the Pioneer's quarterback to give AIC the ball just 24 yards from the end zone. As the half was ending, the Yellow Jackets kicked a 33-yard field goal, but the kick was wide left and AIC went into the locker room down 3-0.
  • The Pioneers scored two touchdowns and a field goal in the third quarter to take the 20-0 lead after three.
  • LIU Post opened the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 10-yard rush to give them the 26-0 lead after a failed two-point conversion.
  • AIC answered on their next drive with a 53-yard touchdown from sophomore quarterback Jordan Hiscoe to redshirt-junior wide receiver Christian Dargan. The Yellow Jackets converted the two-point conversion to make it 26-8.
  • The Pioneers went on to score one more time to seal the game, 33-8.

GAME NOTES:
  • This is the first time since 2014 that the Yellow Jackets have picked off at least two passes from opposing quarterbacks. On September 4, 2014, the Yellow Jackets had two interceptions at Assumption in a 27-25 win. NE10 career interception record holder Daquan Holmes had both interceptions in that game.
  • With his first touchdown of the season, redshirt-junior Dargan is just one touchdown catch away from tying his single-season high.
  • In just his four game, Hiscoe threw for his second career touchdown.
