Women's soccer drops 1st conference matchup to Bentley

WALTHAM, Massachusetts - The American International College women's soccer team competed in their first Northeast-10 game of the season against Bentley University.

Record: AIC falls to 2-2-0 overall, while Bentley moves to 2-0-1 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • For the first time all season, sophomore goalkeeper Mikayla Demanche allowed her first goal in the first half.
  • The goals kept coming in the first half for Bentley, as junior forward, Stephanie Helin put one in the net in the 29th minute.
  • The second half was more of the same. Helin put in her second goal of the game, to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead.
  • AIC had a few good opportunities to score, but were unable to convert throughout the game.
  • The Yellow Jackets out shot the Falcons 11-8 and matched them with five shots on goal, but Bentley was able to secure the win 3-0.

  • The Yellow Jackets will travel to Albany, New York to compete against The College Of Saint. Rose on Wednesday, September 12 at 6 p.m.
