NORTH ANDOVER, Massachusetts - The American International College women's soccer team walked away with a critical Northeast-10 Conference victory over Merrimack College, winning 2-1 on Wednesday, September 26.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- For the first 72 minutes of play, redshirt junior Mikayla Demanche and junior Erin Fulton were able to keep the offenses off the board.
- The first goal of the night was scored by senior midfielder Federica Frew, who broke the shutout with her second goal of the season in the 73rd minute.
- Shortly after, junior forward Jacinda McCartney was able to score the second goal of the night off a loose ball inside the box. The goal by McCartney expanded the lead to 2-0 in the 76th minute.
- Nearly immediately after the Warriors responded with a fast goal from sophomore forward Izzy McDonell. Merrimack would trail just 2-1 after that goal.
- That was the only goal Demanche let past her, giving AIC a 2-1 win over Merrimack.
BUZZWORTHY:
- AIC's match against Merrimack was the last regular season matchup at Martone-Mejail Field before they move to the Division I level.
