MANCHESTER, New Hampshire - The American International College women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to the Southern New Hampshire Penmen, falling 2-1 in overtime on Saturday, September 22.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Yellow Jackets struck first in the 17th minute as junior back Haley Wheeler ripped a shot into the right corner on a cross pass from redshirt freshman midfielder Anniina Sankoh.
- Redshirt junior goalkeeper Mikayla Demanche helped the lead hold up with four stops in the half.
- In the second frame, the Penmen leveled the score on a goal by Danielle Humphreys in the 55th minute.
- Despite conceding a tally, Demanche was strong, making 10 saves in the frame to keep the game 1-1 through the end of regulation.
- In overtime, the Penmen were able to seal the win, as Sydney Carney fired a shot into the far side of the net for the win in the 97th minute.
BUZZWORTHY:
- Demanche set a career high in saves with 14.
- Wheeler's goal was her first as a Yellow Jacket.
