HOW IT HAPPENED:
- AIC exploded out of the gate, taking a 3-0 lead before the game was 10 minutes old thanks to goals by freshmen attacker Liam Flanagan, junior midfielder Quinn Caesar, and freshman attacker Rawill Herrera. The Penmen cut into the deficit with a pair of tallies, but junior midfielder Hunter Cooney stopped the bleeding with his first goal of the year. However, the Penmen struck twice in the final 2:36 to draw the game even at 4-4.
- AIC once again jumped out to an early lead in the second, with redshirt junior midfielder Will Lewis notching a goal just 24 seconds into the frame. The Penmen again had an answer, tying things up at 2:08, and the score remained 5-5 until Caesar hit the net at 10:40. Things looked good for AIC until the last moment when the Penmen netted a goal to tie the game with one second left in the frame, sending the teams into the break at 6-6.
- The Penmen turned the tables on AIC in the third, scoring four times in the first 4:35 and nine times overall to build a huge lead; AIC's lone goal was by Flanagan while up a man at 6:58.
- Despite the 15-7 deficit after three, the Jackets battled to the end, holding SNHU off the board completely in the fourth and scoring three of their own; Caesar finished his hat trick, Herrera added a second, and sophomore midfielder Jack Shaughnessy, who set up Herrera's second of the game, notched a goal for the 15-10 final.
BUZZWORTHY:
- With one game remaining on the schedule, freshman goalkeeper Jacob Ortiz sits at 237 saves, fourth-most in a season by a men's goalkeeper. He needs 13 to tie the record of 250 set last season by Matt Sayegh.
