SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College men's basketball fell in Northeast-10 Conference action by a score of 70-47 to Southern Connecticut on Tuesday, February 6.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Owls were on the board first with a layup over a minute into the game. They scored once more before senior forward Tahlib Swan hit a jumper at 16:56 to put the Yellow Jackets on the board.
- AIC tied the game up on their next possession when Durant stole the SCSU pass and sent one in with authority on the fast break. However, over the next 11 minutes, the Owls went on a 25-5 run and grew their lead to 19, 31-12, with 2:55 left in the first half. Southern Connecticut took a 17 point lead into the locker room, 33-16.
- Freshman guard Adonis Williams knocked down a three to start the second half, but the Owls went on an 18-7 run that came to an end at 10:04 as they led by 24, 53-29.
- The Yellow Jackets would try and chip away but in the end, the Owls' offense continued to knock down shots as they took the game 70-47.
GAME NOTES:
- Swan's 24-point performance marks the sixth time that he's scored 20 or more points this season.
- For the 11 time this season, the Yellow Jackets have recorded more blocks than their opponents. Tonight's four-block differential is the largest in favor of AIC this season.
- Swan's 57% field goal percentage is his third highest of the season. The only two games in which he shot better were the first two games of the season. In the season opener against Holy Family, he shot 60% and then followed that up with an 88.9% night against Jefferson.
