HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The offense was clicking for AIC at the beginning of the game, as the team jumped out to an early 13-6 lead within the first six minutes of action.
- By the halfway point of the first, the AIC lead would grow to 14, up 26-12 after junior guard Logan Santiago buried a three-pointer off a pass from sophomore guard Xion Golding.
- With 30 seconds remaining in the half, the Yellow Jackets lead would extend to 28, their largest lead of the game.
- The Red Hawks hit a few late free throws, but AIC took a 49-23 advantage into the break.
- In the second half, the lead would grow to as high as 30 points before the final whistle. AIC took care of business at home, ultimately defeating Roberts Wesleyan 82-61.
BUZZWORTHY:
- The Yellow Jackets were on fire from beyond the arc, knocking down 10 three pointers in the first half alone. By comparison, AIC's defense held the Red Hawks to just one three-pointer made, as the visitors shot 1-of-20 from beyond the arc, besting the team's previous top defensive performance, which came against Jefferson on November 10, when they held the Rams to just 5-of-18 from deep.
- Santiago knocked down 17 points, a career high as a Yellow Jacket.
